My wife Rori and I decided to take a adventure to the Beaver Lodge in the snow, so
we decided we would 4x4 up to Atlanta Idaho and spend our New Year Eve there. Atlanta is a little mining town that dates back to 1890, its 68 miles of off-road terrain, starting with washboard to ice and snow, the road follows the rivers edge. One of the first things we came across is the Arrow Rock Dam which was originally constructed in 1911-1915, Later it was modified in1935-1937. This is a cool little piece of history.
As we were cruising up past the dam the road narrows where they have cut through the mountain, As we were driving along a chunk of rock fell off and hit the roof of the scout, making both of us jump, Needless to say I increased my speed and got away from there.
About 25 miles into the trip we entered a little town called Twin Springs it was established in 1898. It’s a small quiet little town that has a bar/lodge. And rental cabins. to be continued in Beaver Lodge / Atlanta Idaho #2
