When I started going south again, the trail started to drop in elevation very rapidly and the trail was getting dense with trees in spots, It was not real fast going even on a dirt bike, which was ok since how I was by myself; I had to be a little more cautious because if I went off the trail
I would be in big trouble with no one to help me. I came across a forest road and I wondered where it went. At eight miles down the trail I stopped to look at the Benchmark map, gps and to get a drink, some more pictures; and a couple of bikers came up the
Idaho Centennial Trail. .....this is not a 4x4 road....smiles
They stopped and took a break with me and we talked for fifteen minutes, swapping trail stories. The told me that I would come upon tree’s that had fallen and blocking the trail another mile down, and after that I would run into the same situation every mile or two; they suggested that it was too much work for one guy. It would be only nine or ten miles of the twenty I wanted to ride that day. I
told them I would have to try. In my heart I needed to accomplish the Idaho centennial Trail, even if I had to hike.
Always carry a water filter with you in you survival bag, so you can drink out of the creek if needed....smiles...Bill
...to be continued in Idaho Centennial Trail 15.......
